Michael Rothermel has devoted his career to risk management and insurance. He worked for 18 years one of the largest privately held companies in America, rising to the position of Director of Risk and Insurance Management. In 1986, he entered the insurance agency business. In 1995, he and his partners sold their agency to First of America Bank. Most recently Mike served as Senior Vice President for a large, national insurance brokerage company.

Mike is the past President of the West Michigan Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society. He holds the professional designations of Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). He has managed large national and multinational accounts and is professionally proficient in all types of alternative risk management such as offshore single parent and group captives and well as other types of self insurance.

Mike earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University. He is active in many local organizations and currently serves as a board member for Hope Network Behavioral Health, the Kent County Literacy Council, and the American Heart Association.
