As Senior Vice President, Dave advises clients on all aspects of their insurance and risk management programs, and serves a strategic leadership role as part of Van Wyk's executive team. Dave's specialty practice areas include marine insurance, construction insurance, bond and surety, and large casualty risks.

H. David Hoovler's insurance career spans more than 30 years. Dave began his career as a bond underwriter and manager for a casualty and surety company. He then moved into large casualty lines underwriting before becoming a broker and advisor at a large, national insurance brokerage company.

Dave earned a bachelor's of science degree in Accounting/Finance and Business Education from Ferris State University. He also earned his Michigan Teaching Certificate. He is a licensed property and casualty agent. Dave and his wife, Nancy, spent more than three years as volunteers with the United States Peace Corps. He served in Iran and worked in education and agriculture.
