John Ficeli has devoted his career to risk management and insurance. He has more than 35 years of experience as an insurance company executive in both underwriting and marketing. In 1981, he started, along with 3 partners, a very successful insurance agency. In 1995, he and his partners sold their agency to First of America Bank. Most recently, John served as Senior Vice President and Middle Market Practice Leader for a large, national insurance brokerage company.

John is the past president of both the West Michigan Chapter of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter’s (CPCU) Society and the Michigan Association of Property & Liability Counselors (MAPLIC). He is a licensed Insurance Consultant and holds many professional designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).

John graduated from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, where he also served as the offensive captain of the Hawkeye football team.
